Odisha: Court sentences retired principal of govt driving training school to jail term in corruption case
India, Aug. 22 -- While convicting a retired Principal of the Government Driving Training School in a disproportionate assets case, a special Vigilance court sentenced him to three years in jail in a disproportionate assets case.
The Special Judge of the Vigilance Court convicted Pravakar Behera, former Principal of the Government Driving Training School, Bhubaneswar, for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs1 lakh on Behera.
Odisha Vigilance had earlier filed a chargesheet against Behera under Sections 13(2) read with 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, in connection with the case.
