India, March 16 -- A controversy erupted during the Rajya Sabha Elections in Odisha Assembly on Monday after a BJP MLA was reportedly issued a second ballot paper while casting her vote, prompting the opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) to demand fresh polling.
Ganeswar Behera alleges violation of election rules during voting
BJD MLA Ganeswar Behera alleged that the second ballot was unlawfully provided to BJP MLA Upasna Mohapatra during the voting process in the Odisha Assembly.
According to Behera, Mohapatra was initially issued one ballot paper as per procedure. However, after making an error while marking her vote, she reportedly requested another ballot paper from polling officials.
