India, July 7 -- The post-mortem examination of Chauliaganj Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) Beauty Mohanty, who was found dead at her government quarters in Cuttack, has confirmed that she died due to asphyxia caused by hanging, Kataka (Cuttack) Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo said on Tuesday.

Speaking to mediapersons, the DCP said the autopsy report found no external injury marks on Mohanty's body, and there is no evidence of foul play at this stage. However, he added that the investigation remains open and police are awaiting the viscera examination report and expert opinions before drawing any final conclusions.
