India, April 23 -- In a significant judgment, an Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADJ) in Balangir district has sentenced Tikachand Bag to life imprisonment for murdering his elder brother in a 2022 case.

The verdict was pronounced on Thursday after examining evidence and witness testimonies presented during the trial.

Crime triggered by family dispute The incident took place in Kandei village under Turekela police limits. According to case details, Tikachand Bag got into a heated argument with his elder brother, Phulaprasad Bag, near the Arjuni riverbank over a family dispute.
