India, Sept. 29 -- Flood situation has emerged in Odisha's Jagatsinghpur district as rising water levels in the Mahanadi have inundated more than six villages in the Tirtol and Kujang blocks.

Floodwater has entered several villages, including Kotakana, Manijanga, Tirtol Adivasi Sahi and Haripur. Around two feet of water was flowing over the road in Kotakana Adivasi Sahi, disrupting movement in the area. Floodwater has also submerged the road in Gopala Sahi of Manijanga.

More than 200 families have been affected by the flooding, while large areas of farmland have been inundated, causing extensive crop damage.

The district administration has directed officials and field-level personnel to remain alert and closely monitor the situation. ...
