India, May 9 -- A low-pressure area is likely to form over the Southwest Bay of Bengal around May 11, said the IMD on Saturday.
"An upper air cyclonic circulation lay over Gulf of Mannar and adjoining Sri Lanka extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level on Saturday (May 9). Under its influence a low-pressure area is likely to form over Southwest Bay of Bengal around May 11," revealed the IMD.
According to the IMD, the upper air cyclonic circulation, formed over South Andaman Sea and neighbourhood on May 8, became less marked over the same region on Saturday.
As per the IMD prediction, several districts in Odisha may witness rain till May 16.
