India, Aug. 31 -- Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a special package of Rs 560 crore for 28 newly-formed Notified Area Councils (NACs) in Odisha

The Chief Minister made this announcement during the celebration of state-level Local Self-Government Day-2026 in the capital city here on Monday.

Majhi also launched altogether 593 development projects worth Rs 323 crore across 62 urban local bodies (ULBs) in the state. He inaugurated a total of 423 projects worth Rs 102 crore and laid foundation stones for 170 projects worth Rs 221 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said cities should not be viewed merely as places of residence, but as centres of employment, entrepreneurship, education and prosperity.
