India, June 26 -- The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has appointed a new in-charge for its Odisha unit. The AICC has also appointed new party in-charges for Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed Lalji Desai as the new in-charge of the Congress party in Odisha, said press release issued by party's general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal today

Desai, a Congress leader from Gujarat, replaced Ajay Kumar Lallu as the AICC in-charge for Odisha.

Desai has been working as the chief coordinator of Congress Seva Dal, a frontal organisation of the party, since 2018. He has long experience in the organisational matters of the party.
