India, Oct. 19 -- Senior journalist Bibhuti Pati of Kanak News died of a heart attack on Monday morning. He was 54. Pati complained of chest pain in the morning and was taken from Bhubaneswar to Kataka in a vehicle. He was subsequently taken to the SCB Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

He is survived by his wife and a son. He was a resident of CDA Sector 10 in Kataka city.

Pati was reporting for Kanak News from New Delhi and had a long and distinguished career in journalism. He began his professional journey with Eastern Times, an English weekly published by the Prajatantra Prachar Samiti.
