India, Aug. 19 -- Former Lanjigarh MLA Sibaji Majhi died at his native village Danarguda in the Bijepur area late Tuesday night. He was undergoing treatment for chest pain.Downloading Interactive Geographic Maps

Majhi was initially admitted to a hospital in Bhawanipatna after complaining of chest pain and was later shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. After receiving treatment, he was discharged and returned to his village, where he breathed his last.

Majhi entered politics and became the first MLA of the newly formed Lanjigarh Assembly constituency. He represented the constituency from 2009 to 2014.
