Fire Services employee attempts self-immolation in Odisha's Kendujhar, alleges harassment
India, Sept. 12 -- A Fire Services employee reportedly attempted self-immolation to end his life at office in Anandapur in Kendujhar district, citing mental stress and alleged harassment by a senior officer.
The incident reportedly occurred at the three-storey Shalapada Fire Services office, where employee Hemananda Dehuri climbed onto the rooftop and threatened to take the extreme step.
According to the allegations, Dehuri has been facing repeated mental pressure and harassment from officer Surya Hembram. Other employees present at the office intervened and safely brought him down from the rooftop.
