India, April 7 -- In a tragic incident, an elderly man lost his life after coming in contact with an electrified wire laid around a farmland to ward off wild animals in Odisha's Subarnapur district.

The incident took place in Nuabasti village under Ulunda police station limits. The deceased has been identified as Linga Giri.

Victim came in contact with electrified fencing in farmland According to reports, Linga Giri had come as a guest to the house of one Ishwar Giri in Nuabasti. On the day of the incident, he had gone to a nearby field for routine purposes when he accidentally came into contact with live electric wires.
