India, March 13 -- Concern over rising digital addiction among children in Odisha was raised in the State Assembly today as the 2025-26 Economic Survey has revealed that nearly two-thirds of children in the state are affected by excessive digital usage.Odisha Local Events
BJD MLA Subasini Jena highlighted the issue in the Assembly and urged the government to consider imposing a digital ban for children, similar to measures taken in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
Jena expressed concern over the growing dependence of children on digital devices and its impact on their health and development.
Responding to the issue, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond acknowledged the concern and said the government is aware of the problem....
