Darshan at Puri Jagannath Temple to remain closed on August 17 for special ritual
India, Aug. 16 -- Darshan at the Jagannath Temple in Puri will remain suspended for four hours on Monday, August 17, to facilitate a special ritual of Lord Jagannath and His Holy Siblings, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) said on Sunday.
According to the temple administration, the Khasapada Lagi Niti of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra will be performed on the fifth day of the Shukla Paksha of the month of Shravan.
As per the schedule, general darshan of the deities will remain closed from 6 pm to 10 pm on August 17, after the completion of the second Bhogamandap ritual.
