India, March 23 -- Cases of missing children have shown a significant rise in Odisha, informed Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in the Assembly today. In a written reply to a query in the House, Majhi highlighted both progress and ongoing challenges in law enforcement and public safety and raised concerns about security of children and tracking mechanisms in the State. As per the data presented in the Assembly, a total of 6,838 children were reported missing in 2024 which increased sharply to 8,206 in 2025. Out of the reported cases, 5,942 children were successfully rescued in 2024.
