India, Oct. 29 -- Patients at the Cancer Department of Berhampur MKCG Medical College and Hospital,Odisha had a narrow escape on Thursday after a portion of the ceiling collapsed inside the facility. No casualties were reported, and all affected patients were immediately shifted to a safe location following the incident.

The mishap has once again fuelled apprehensions over safety of patients and condition of infrastructure at the government-run medical institution.

According to reports, the incident took place in the Cancer Department while patients were present on the premises. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported following the collapse, and the patients escaped unharmed.
