India, May 12 -- Odisha Crime Branch (CB) has said that Government Railway Police (GRP) constable Soumya Ranjan Swain, who was allegedly lynched by a mob in Balianta on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on May 7, died due to blunt force trauma, as per a media report.

The Crime Branch, which is probing the sensational case, also found that Swain had allegedly consumed steroids a few hours before the incident and was behaving aggressively, the report added.State Development Reports

The incident took place on May 7 at around 11.30 am in the Balianta area. Two women travelling on a scooter were allegedly hit from behind by a motorcycle carrying Swain and his associate Om Prakash Rout.
