Andhra-Odisha tussle intensifies as Andhra Police set up checkpost in Kotia
India, May 24 -- The long-standing border dispute between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh has intensified further with Andhra police setting up a temporary checkpost in the disputed Kotia region of Koraput district.
According to reports, Andhra Pradesh police on Saturday established a temporary checkpost at Uparasembi village under Kotia panchayat in Pottangi block of Koraput district and deployed police personnel there.
The Andhra administration has reportedly included Uparasembi village under Parvathipuram Manyam district. Acting on instructions from Andhra authorities, Salur police reached the village, held discussions with locals and later erected a temporary tent and checkpost bearing Andhra Police signage.
