India, Sept. 29 -- An earthquake of magnitude 3.9 on the Richter scale struck Odisha's Debagada district late Monday night, causing tremors in parts of Riamal block.Odisha Travel Guide

According to the District Emergency Officer, the earthquake occurred at around 10.48 pm. The tremor was recorded at a depth of around 20 km below the ground.

Residents in the Chadheimara gram panchayat area of Riamal block felt the tremors.

Officials said there were no reports of damage or casualties following the earthquake. The district administration also contacted ground-level officials, including the Revenue Inspector (RI) and Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO), to verify whether the tremors had caused any damage.
