India, March 16 -- Litterateur Girijakumar Baliyar Singh's poetry collection 'Padapurana' has been selected for the Sahitya Akademi Award 2025.

According to sources in the Sahitya Akademi, the jury unanimously chose 'Padapurana' for the prestigious award from a list of 10 recommended books.

Baliyar Singh's 'Padapurana', first published in 2020, has been recognised in the poetry category.

The annual Sahitya Akademi Award is presented in 24 Indian languages. For 2025, the awards include eight poetry collections, four novels, six short story collections, two essay works, one book of literary criticism, one autobiography and two memoirs.
