India, Sept. 1 -- The UK manufacturing activity expanded at the weakest pace in five months in August as rates of growth in both output and new orders lost momentum, final survey data from S&P Global showed Tuesday.
The manufacturing purchasing managers' index dropped to 51.7 in August from 51.9 in July. However, a score above 50 indicates expansion in the sector. The flash reading was 51.5.
Output grew at the weakest pace in five months in August. The overall expansion was supported by increased intakes of new work, with demand from both domestic and overseas clients improving.
