India, Oct. 7 -- A report released by the Energy Information Administration on Wednesday showed an unexpected decrease in U.S. crude oil inventories in the week ended October 2nd.
The EIA said crude oil inventories fell by 3.2 million barrels last week after inching up by 0.9 million barrels in the previous week.
At 424.1 million barrels, U.S. crude oil inventories are still 1 percent above five-year average for this time of year, the report said.
