The Travelers Companies Stock Gains 8% Over Higher Earnings In Q2

India, July 17 -- Shares of The Travelers Companies, Inc. (TRV) are climbing around 8 percent in Friday morning trading after the company announced an increase in its second-quarter earnings to $2.208 billion, or $10.26 per share, from last year's $1.509 billion, or $6.53 per share.

The company's shares are currently trading at $365.43 on the New York Stock Exchange, up 8.17 percent. The stock opened at $342.66 and has climbed as high as $366.99 so far in today's session. Over the past year, it has traded in a range of $252.26 to $366.99.
