India, Sept. 8 -- The Thai stock market has finished higher in four straight sessions, improving almost 50 points or 3.1 percent along the way. The Stock Exchange of Thailand now sits just above the 1,620-point plateau, although investors figure to lock in gains on Wednesday.

The global forecast for the Asian markets is weak on persistent hostilities in the Middle East and the resulting spike in crude oil prices. The European markets were flat and the U.S. bourses were down and the Asian markets figure to follow the latter lead.
