India, Aug. 20 -- The Thai stock market on Thursday snapped the two-day slide in which it had slumped more than 15 points or 1 percent. The Stock Exchange of Thailand now sits just beneath the 1,610-point plateau although it may open under water again on Friday.
The global forecast for the Asian markets is weak thanks to surging oil prices and continued unrest in the Middle East. The European and U.S. markets were down and the Asian bourses are likely to follow suit.
