India, Sept. 17 -- Telomir Pharmaceuticals Inc. (TELO), a clinical-stage biotechnology company, on Thursday released data indicating the potential application of its lead drug candidate, Telomir-Zn, in treating age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

Telomir-Zn works by targeting intracellular iron and copper homeostasis pathways to bring about epigentic silencing. The mechanism of action involves decreasing intracellular labile iron and potently inhibited iron-dependent Jumonji C histone demethylases (KDMs), enzymes that help regulate which genes cells turn on or off.
