India, Aug. 19 -- Target Corp. (TGT), a major U.S. retailer, reported Wednesday significantly higher profit for its second quarter, driven by higher net sales and comparable sales. Further, the firm lifted fiscal 2026 outlook.

In pre-market activity on the NYSE, the shares were losing around 3.75 percent, trading at $146.90.

The second-quarter net earnings were $1.877 billion, more than double the $935 million earned in the same quarter last year.

Earnings per share reached $4.11 compared with $2.05 a year ago, representing a 100.3 percent increase. Operating income totaled $2.560 billion, up 94.4 percent from the prior year period.
