India, Aug. 29 -- Camron Jones has been cast as Tupac Shakur in Snoop, Universal Pictures' upcoming biopic about rap icon and entertainment mogul Snoop Dogg.

Jonathan Daviss, known for Netflix's Outer Banks, will portray Snoop Dogg in the film directed by Craig Brewer. Lauren London will play Snoop's late mother, Beverly Tate, while Myles Bullock Be will portray Dr. Dre.

Jones is best known for his work in Amazon Prime Video's Panic and has also appeared in P-Valley, grown-ish, The Purge, and Shameless.

Shakur and Snoop Dogg were both signed to Death Row Records and collaborated on the 1996 track "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted." The two were close friends before their relationship became strained amid the East Coast-West Coast rap rivalry. S...
