India, Nov. 6 -- Satellos Bioscience Inc. (MSLE) announced that, following feedback from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), it has selected MRI-measured muscle fat fraction as the primary efficacy endpoint in its Phase 2 BASECAMP study of forazapadin in boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD).

The new endpoint will measure changes in fat content in the vastus lateralis muscle using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), replacing dynamometry, which measures muscle strength.

Fat fraction is a measure of how much fat is present in muscle tissue. In DMD, healthy muscle is gradually replaced by fat as the disease progresses. A reduction in fat fraction may indicate improved muscle composition and possible muscle repair.
