India, Aug. 31 -- Shares of RedHill Biopharma Ltd. (RDHL) are surging about 64 percent on Monday morning after the company announced its decision to divest its Talicia business to a subsidiary of Apotex Health Corp. for an upfront payment of $18 million in cash plus up to an additional $35 million in potential payments based on worldwide net sales milestones.

The company's shares are currently trading at $1.08 on the Nasdaq, gaining 63.87 percent in the latest session. The stock opened at $1.36 and touched an intraday high of $1.6. Over the past 12 months, the shares have traded between $0.57 and $2.79.
