India, Aug. 28 -- Novavax, Inc. (NVAX) on Friday announced that its partners, Sanofi and Takeda, have received regulatory approvals for XFG-adapted Nuvaxovid COVID-19 vaccine for the 2026-2027 vaccination season in major markets, including the U.S., European Union and Japan.
In the U.S., Nuvaxovid is approved for individuals 65 years and older, as well as those 12 through 64 years with at least one underlying condition that puts them at high risk for severe COVID-19 outcomes.
Nuvaxovid is a protein-based, non-mRNA COVID-19 vaccine formulated to target the XFG variant. It is developed using the company's proprietary recombinant nanoparticle and Matrix-M adjuvant technology, which is designed to stimulate an immune response.
