New Zealand Jobless Rate Climbs To 5.7% In Q3

India, Nov. 3 -- The unemployment rate in New Zealand came in at a seasonally adjusted 5.7 percent in the third quarter of 2026, Statistics New Zealand said on Wednesday.

That missed expectations for 5.5 percent and was up from 5.6 percent in the second quarter.

Overall employment was down 0.1 percent on quarter, missing forecasts for an increase of 0.4 percent after rising 0.5 percent in the previous three months.

The participation rate was 70.4 percent, down from 70.7 percent in the three months prior.
