India, Oct. 16 -- Extending recent volatility on Wall Street, the major U.S. stock indexes have moved in notably opposite directions during trading on Friday.
While the tech-heavy Nasdaq has moved sharply lower, the Dow is adding to yesterday's strong gain, reaching its best intraday level in almost a month.
Currently, the Nasdaq is just off its low of the session, down 279.18 points or 1.1 percent at 26,433.85. The S&P 500 is also down 23.25 points or 0.3 percent at 7,720.81, but the Dow is up 188.62 points or 0.4 percent at 52,366.31.
