India, Sept. 17 -- MIRA Pharmaceuticals Inc. (MIRA), a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company, on Thursday reported the advancement of Ketamir-2 toward a Phase 2a trial for treating chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN).
CIPN is a common side effect of certain chemotherapy treatments that persists after dosing is completed. The condition is dealt with marginally by various pain management approaches, yet there are no therapies specifically addressing CIPN currently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
While ketamine has shown success in regulating pain through the analgesic NMDA receptor pathway, its use remains limited due to certain neuropsychiatric and dissociative consequences.
