India, May 14 -- The Japanese market is trading modestly lower on Friday after opening in the green, extending the losses in the previous session, following the broadly positive cues from Wall Street overnight. The Nikkei 225 is falling below the 62,550 level, with weakness in technology stocks partially offset by gains in automaker and financial stocks.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 Index is down 131.68 points or 0.21 percent to 62,522.37, after touching a high of 63,235.77 earlier. Japanese shares ended significantly lower on Thursday.
