India, Sept. 26 -- Ion Beam Applications S.A. (IBAB.BR), a provider of equipment for the radiopharmaceutical industry, on Friday announced the coordination of the LIFEDESTINY program to tackle PFAS environmental contamination. Per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are persistent, mobile, and bioaccumulative molecules that are also called 'forever chemicals'. Current methods used for their remediation are cost intensive, including incineration and containment. LIFEDESTINY was initiated as an integrated program to isolate, treat, and eventually neutralize PFAS compounds.
