India, Aug. 21 -- Indian shares struggled for direction in early trade on Friday as long-term U.S. Treasury yields resumed their climb and oil prices remained elevated near one-month highs amid the continuing standoff between Washington and Teran over control of the Strait of Hormuz.
The benchmark 30-share BSE Sensex edged up marginally to 77,582 after rebounding sharply on Thursday to snap its seven-session losing streak. The NSE Nifty index inched up 11 points at 24,243.
