The Reserve Bank of India will announce its bi-monthly monetary policy later today, with the central bank expected to hike its key repo rate by 25 basis points after maintaining a status-quo so far this calendar year.
The benchmark 30-share BSE Sensex fell 430 points, or 0.6 percent, to 72,638 while the NSE Nifty index was down 164 points, or 0.7 percent, at 22,611.
