India, June 30 -- In a dramatic day of developments in FIFA World Cup, former champions Germany and three-time Runners Up the Netherlands were shocked by their lesser known rivals Paraguay and Morocco on penalties, while Brazil rallied to edge past Japan to reach the last 16.
Germany and Paraguay battled for 120 minutes and were locked 1-1, but Gustavo Alfaro's men held their nerve in the penalty shootout to secure a historic 4-3 victory.
