India, Aug. 15 -- Erykah Badu and The Alchemist have announced that their long-awaited joint album will be released digitally on August 28 via Control FREAQ Records/Young Recordings. The announcement comes alongside the release of the new single "Witch Doctor."
The album was recorded over 18 months in Dallas and Los Angeles, bringing together Badu's soul, funk, jazz and hip-hop influences with The Alchemist's sample-driven production. The project follows previously released track "Next To You" and Amazon Music exclusive "Echos 19 (mix 122)."
Badu and The Alchemist began developing the project after Badu expressed interest in rapping over The Alchemist's production for Mobb Deep's "The Realest." They later recorded and refined the material...
