India, Nov. 7 -- Elton John's 1989 music video for "Sacrifice" has surpassed one billion views on YouTube, becoming the legendary British singer-songwriter's first entry in the platform's Billion Views Club.
The video, directed by Alek Keshishian, stars supermodel Yasmeen Ghauri and singer-songwriter Chris Isaak as a married couple whose relationship gradually breaks down, leading to separation and single parenthood.
"Sacrifice" was released as the second single from John's 22nd studio album, Sleeping with the Past. Although it peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100, the song gained wider success after being reissued as a double A-side with "Healing Hands" in 1990.
