India, Sept. 13 -- Dolly Parton's first posthumous song, "Bound to Ride," has been released from the upcoming Stanley Brothers tribute album Where the Soul Never Dies: Celebrating 80 Years of The Stanley Brothers, due out October 16.
Parton recorded her vocals in 2022 at her own studio during a COVID-19 surge, while the First Ladies of Bluegrass separately recorded the backing track. The group includes Alison Brown, Becky Buller, Sierra Hull, Missy Raines and Molly Tuttle.
The musicians also rearranged the traditional song, adding a new eight-bar bridge based on an obscure verse.
