The company's bottom line totaled $756 million, or $1.15 per share. This compares with $1.417 billion, or $2.17 per share, last year.

Excluding items, Delta Air Lines Inc reported adjusted earnings of $1.134 billion or $1.72 per share for the period.

The company's revenue for the period rose 21.1% to $20.186 billion from $16.673 billion last year.
