India, Aug. 11 -- CJ Cheiljedang Corp. (097950.KS), a South Korean food processor, reported Tuesday lower operating income in its second quarter, while it slipped a net loss from last year's profit, despite higher sales. However, operating income increased sequentially.

In South Korea, the shares were trading 7.8 percent lower, at 189,500.00 won.

In the second quarter, operating income dropped 27.1 percent to 257.575 billion Korean won from last year's 353.130 billion won. Sequentially, operating income grew 8.2 percent.

Meanwhile, the company reported net loss attributable to shareholders of parent company of 13.528 billion won, compared to profit of 162.512 billion won a year earlier.
