India, Sept. 28 -- Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (4519) announced that development of Emugrobart (GYM329) for obesity has been discontinued, with all rights to the drug being returned by Roche (RHHBY).
The company is now preparing to resume development of the therapy for spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) while also evaluating potential out-licensing opportunities.
Obesity and spinal muscular atrophy are very different conditions, but both have been areas of active research for Emugrobart, an anti-latent myostatin antibody designed to improve muscle-related outcomes.
