India, June 24 -- Chemours Co. (CC) Wednesday announced a settlement to resolve claims by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or EPA, relating to Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances or PFAS discharges and other alleged non-compliance actions, primarily at its Washington Works, Fayetteville Works, and Chambers Works facilities.

Currently, shares are up 0.52 points or 2.58 percent at $20.49.

As per the settlement, the Wilmington, Delaware-based industrial and specialty chemicals products provider has agreed to pay EPA and the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, a $22.5 million civil penalty, of which $15 million was previously accrued.
