India, Oct. 9 -- After ending the previous session moderately higher, Canadian stocks showed a more significant move to the upside during trading on Friday.

The benchmark S&P/TSX Composite Index jumped 519.24 points or 1.5 percent to 35,664.62, continuing to regain ground after ending Wednesday's trading at its lowest closing level in well over two months.

The rally on Bay Street came following the release of a report from Statistics Canada showing Canadian employment unexpectedly decreased for the second consecutive month in September.
