India, Aug. 17 -- Can-Fite BioPharma Ltd. (CANF), a clinical-stage biotechnology company, on Monday announced positive preclinical findings indicating that Namodenoson enhanced the anti-cancer effect of gemcitabine in treating pancreatic cancer.
Namodenoson is a small orally bioavailable drug that selectively binds to the A3 adenosine receptor, which is inordinately present within diseased or malignant cells. By targeting the receptor, the drug has shown success in treating forms of liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). Namodenoson was granted an Orphan Drug designation in the U.S. and Europe, and a Fast Track designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
