India, Oct. 26 -- Biohaven Ltd. (BHVN) presented preclinical data for BHV-1420, an investigational drug designed to selectively remove the autoantibodies that drive membranous nephropathy, at the American Society of Nephrology's Kidney Week 2026.
In a laboratory diagnostic assay, BHV-1420 brought 88% of anti-PLA2R-positive patient samples (n=59) below the clinical threshold for positivity, indicating its potential to recognize and target disease-driving autoantibodies.
In a mouse model, a single subcutaneous dose of BHV-1420 achieved more than 90% depletion of circulating anti-PLA2R antibodies within two hours at the highest tested dose. The reduction was sustained throughout the 72-hour study period.
