India, Nov. 6 -- Bio-Thera Solutions, Ltd. (688177.SH) announced that China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) has approved BAT2506, a biosimilar of golimumab, for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.
The approval marks the first golimumab biosimilar approved in China. The product will be marketed under the brand name (ASHULI).
Golimumab is a human IgG1 monoclonal antibody that targets tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-a), a protein involved in inflammation. By blocking TNF-a, the treatment helps reduce inflammatory activity associated with autoimmune diseases.
